LOVE-NEED-MISS-FOREVER

YOU

Love you, Need you, Miss you and Forever you are four books whose writer is Estelle Maskame, who began her career as a writer on the Wattpad platform. Personally, I believe that these books are perfect for getting started in the wonderful world of reading, since they are easy to read, even if they are four books, they are short books, of about 500 pages each of the books.

This tetralogy is about a youthful romance. Eden and Tyler are stepsiblings who can't stand each other and have to live together for a summer, what they don't know is that their relationship from now on will change their entire lives.

This story teaches you how beautiful love is and how horrible it can be. It teaches you that love is more important to yourself than in a couple, it teaches you the value of forgiveness and how important it is to listen to others and above all to put yourself in the shoes of others. It makes you think about many things. If you don't know how to get started in the world of reading and you like youthful romances, the story of Eden and Tyler is yours.

I recommend “Ombres a la foscor”, this is a catalan book that has been written by Arturo Padilla de Juan. This book talks about of six teenagers that are camping in the mountain in the Sant Joan night and in the zone of slepping happen strange things because in the past in this zone occurred a tragedy.

I recommend this book because it is a book where you get into the story because this story produces tension and intrigue and these activates the fear of the people.

I think that this book can be liked to people that like scary movies, because this is a scary book.

Nosotros en la luna”, Alice Kellen

This is not a novel like the typical ones in the romance genre. It's about a girl named Ginger who is finishing college. She lives in London and always does the right thing. Her life takes a turn when her boyfriend dumps her, she gives him a tip and goes to Paris. There she meets Rhys, he is very opposite to her.The night they meet they tell each other everything in a very fluid and not awkward way; they connect a lot. When Ginger returns to London they continue talking by email and little by little they become more than friends. It is a story of love, drama and unexpected things.

I have decided to recommend this book because of the author's writing. The narration is a very real story, it makes you laugh and cry. But as in all stories you could find a negative point.

BOOK RECOMMENDATION: AFTER

Today we are going to talk about a book that I really liked, and not only because of its story, but because of how it is written. It is a saga of books that I started in 2nd of ESO, and that I sometimes reread without getting tired of it.

After is about a love story between a small town girl (Tessa) who has just started university and a “bad” boy (Hardin), who has made a bet to sleep with her. When he succeeds, she finds out and they break up their relationship.

After a long time and many adventures and misfortunes together, they manage to forgive each other and fix their differences, and a few years later they decide to get married, and have two beautiful children, a boy and a girl.

In my opinion, it is quite an entertaining book, and I recommend all the people who are excited to read it because you are not going to regret it.

BOOK RECOMMENDATION

Anne Frank is one of the best novels I have ever read. It tells us from within the experience of Ana and her family in the Second World War. The whole story and what happens have a great impact on any reader since it has a very entertaining outcome with a very tragic ending. From the age of 13 I would recommend it since it has some strong scenes.

The story takes place in Holland and Germany. When Ana and her family hide, many events and adversities occur. It is a story that reaches the heart and that many people at that time lived very similarly. The book is easy to read and easy to understand. Finally, from my point of view, it is a book that whenever you finish a chapter will make you want to read another because they always leave you wanting to know what happens after an event. It's a great historical novel!

Good morning everybody, my name is Tomeu and today I’m going to talk about books. I’m going to give you a Catalan book recommendation. Last month, I read two books for school work, one of them in Spanish and the other one in Catalan.

The Catalan one was the book I really enjoyed and really liked for multiple reasons. The book is called “Un lloc al mΓ³n” and the author is Katherine Marsh, and it describes the story of a Syrian kid who has just abandoned his country for war reasons, and he arrives in Belgium with no family and then the rest is up to you!

On the one hand, I really enjoyed this book because it shows you the life of an emigrant and you can put yourself in the Syrian kid’s shoes and it reflects a current issue that everyone’s putting aside.

On the other hand, it’s also an easy-to-read story and it combines moments of tension with calmer moments.
Otherwise, the only thing I didn’t like so much is the changes of voice in the characters, because sometimes it can be confusing. My mark for this book is a 9.

REVIEW OF HOUSE OF THE EARTH AND BLOOD

This is the first book of the trilogy Crescent City, written by the young American novelist Sara J. Maas, who wrote other famous sagas as Throne of Glass and ACOTAR. The novel creates a world of fantasy full of mystery and mythological creatures, but there is also plenty of romance.

Bryce Quinnal, a half-human and half fairy, is really sad because her best friend Daniela, a wolf woman, and her pack were killed. But Bryce, with the help of the archangels of Lunathion, starts to investigate who killed her friends. Hunt, the archangel who helps Bryce, isn’t really friendly at the beginning but after a long time working together love rises.

After a lot of investigations, troubles and adventures together, they finally discover the author of the murders. But the history doesn’t finish here and there is an open door for future adventures in the next book, House of the Sky and Breath.

Personally, I recommend this book if you like fantasy and romance and also if you like to be in tension with the mystery of the book. In addition, this book has very empowered and fun characters that you can learn from.

THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PYJAMAS

Today, I am going to talk about “The boy in the striped pyjamas”, a very interesting book that everybody should read at least one time in their life. The Irish John Boyne is the author of this novel and he published it in 2006. The book tells the story of Nazi Germany and the concentration camps through the friendship between two children. Bruno is one of the two children and he is the son of a high-ranking soldier and Samuel is a Jewish boy. They are both the same age but they have completely different lives. Their friendship will change their lives all around. It’s a shocking story that highlights the truth of the Nazi regime and teaches us a great lesson: true friendship doesn’t follow rules and ideologies.

On the one hand, Bruno has a happy and carefree childhood until he has to go to the Auschwitz concentration camp. There, he often feels lonely because he doesn't have anyone to play with. It is at that moment when he discovers what he calls “the farm”, where Samuel lives. On the other hand, Samuel is a Jewish boy from a humble family who is forced to leave his city because of fascism and go to the concentration camp of Auschwitz. It is in that place where the two totally innocent children begin their great friendship.

I recommend that you read this book because this story gives us a great life lesson for many reasons. First of all, it shows the differences between these two children only due to their place of birth and makes us understand the discrimination that Samuel experiences for being Jewish. Also, it shows the bad consequences that radical beliefs bring, in that case, Nazism.

Nevertheless, the story tells us how strong conviction can affect our lives in a very negative way and teaches a lesson on how everything can turn against you. It makes you appreciate the importance of the values and to have respect towards others regardless of their beliefs, convictions and race… Also, this literary work shows us that it is possible to rediscover the illusion even when you think that everything is lost. This book teaches us that it is essential to give importance to everything, no matter how small.

Personally, I think that this book isn’t for sensitive people because it is a very hard story and it can affect you too much. But, if you want to see the sad and hard reality of life, you should spend some time with this book. I wish everyone would read this story so that it can never be repeated.

Hi, today I’m going to recommend this book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. This one is the fifth book in the saga but I tell you about this one because, in my opinion, it is the best book. I liked it because it is a book where there are multiple adventures that explain a lot of things that happened in the first movies. Probably this book makes a difference in the actions.

Finally, I recommend this book because, in general, people see the movies and don’t read the books and this is a mistake because in the books is the real story and they mention things that didn’t happen or weren’t mentioned in the movies. I hope you will read it because is an incredible book and you will enjoy it a lot.

BOOK REVIEW - GOLDEN KAMUY

The manga series Golden Kamuy by Satoru Noda is an action, adventure and drama manga set in the Japan of 1905-1906. Golden Kamuy was originally published in 2014 and still Satoru keeps publishing volumes, also, it has 28 volumes. Golden Kamuy is the second manga series made by Satoru Noda, the first he did was "Supinamarada!". Noda has also done two one-shots, "Today, Kyoko's Murder" and "Goalie Only Looks Forward"

The story takes place in different parts of Japan like for example Hokkaidō, but it also takes place in some parts of Russia. The story is about Saichi Sugimoto (one of the main characters), a Russo-Japanese War veteran survivor of Hill 203 (where he meets some of the next characters to appear in the series). After the war, he decides to start looking for gold to be able to pay for the operation of the widow of his friend who died in the war. There he listens to the story of a treasure gathered by members of the Ainu ethnic group to defend themselves against the Japanese colonization of the island, accumulated by a criminal group. After being saved from the attack of one of the soldiers of the seventh division (who we later learn his name is Ogata) by an Ainu girl named Asirpa, he decides to go on a treasure hunt with her, whose map is divided into 24 parts, each of them tattooed on the torso of 24 criminals who escaped from a prison, but along the way he realizes that other sides know the story of the treasure, including members of the 7th Division of the Imperial Japanese Army and a group of gangsters led by Hijikata Toshizō.

By passing the volumes we can see an evolution of the characters and we can also see how the characters get to know each other. One of the best things about Golden Kamuy is that it is quite a realistic manga since the characters are inspired by real people, for example, Saichi Sugimoto is inspired by Saichi Sugimoto, the great-grandfather of Satoru Noda and is also inspired by a soldier named Hiroshi Funasaka, who received the title of "Immortal" after surviving many injuries. There are also more characters inspired by different people in real life, such as Hijikata Toshizō or Shiraishi Yoshitake.

I do not recommend the manga to people under 14-15 years old because there are strong scenes in which you can see blood and violence, in addition to the fact that sometimes the characters make bawdy jokes. Even so, reading this manga is one of the best things a person can do.

I totally recommend this manga because it is a very well written manga with very good illustrations. The manga is interesting and you can learn about Japanese culture and also Ainu culture. You can also see how the Ainus cooked and how the soldiers of the seventh division lived. Without a doubt, it is one of the best manga and books I've ever read. 10/10.

Don Quixote of La Mancha

Don Quixote de la Mancha, by Miguel de Cervantes (1547-1616), is the great classic novel of Spanish literature. It is considered the most important work of fiction in the Spanish language, it is the first modern novel in history. The genre is classic and of cavalry.

It is the story of a 50-year-old hidalgo from La Mancha who, after reading many books on chivalry, decides to dress up as an errant knight and embarks on a series of adventures with his old horse Rocinante. His goal is to go around the world with his weapons, his horse and his neighbour Sancho Panza, who is his squire, to seek adventures, undoing all kind of grievances and putting himself in danger danger situations where, if finished, he would earn eternal name and fame.

On the one hand, it is a bit complicated reading it because the vocabulary is somewhat complex and the expressions are old and many of them are not used today. The most complicated character to understand is Don Quixote since he is the one who speaks the oldest language. That's why I recommend having a dictionary or internet nearby. Another thing is that great concentration is also needed for the aforementioned.

On the other hand, despite the fact that it is somewhat complicated to read, I see that it's important to read since it is a great Spanish literary work and that every Spaniard should read, because of this there are adaptations for different ages.

The situations in which Don Quixote finds himself are very comical, the differences between Sancho - who brings reality to the story -, and Don Quixote, - who brings fantasy -, will make you laugh. I recommend reading it, yes, but try to find for which adaptation will be easier for you to understand.

LA CELESTINA

The book “La Celestina” was published in 1499 by Fernando De Rojas, and it is a renaissance novel that represents traits such as the selfishness and unconsciousness of Calisto in love, Melibea’s passion and Celestina’s greed.

The story begins with Calisto chasing a bird until it falls into Melibea’s orchard, that’s where he sees her for the first time and falls in love with her, but he is rejected by Melibea. Then, Calisto hires Celestina to get him to fall in love with her. Then, Sempronio and PΓ‘rmeno (two of Calisto's servants) help Celestina to create a spell so that Melibea falls in love with Calisto and they succeed.

The matchmaker receives her payment and due to her greed, she decides not to share what she earned with Sempronio and Parmeno, who due to the fury they feel kill her on the spot and then are executed and die as well.

In the end of the story, Calisto suffers a fall down the stairs ending with his death and Melibea, due to the pain she feels for her loss, decides to commit suicide by throwing herself off the balcony.

In my opinion, the book is very interesting and I recommend that you read it. The only problem is that it is in old Spanish and it is difficult to understand.

Tirant lo Blanc by Joanot Martorell.

The book of Tirant lo Blanc of J. Martorell is a chivalric novel which was written in 1460 and published in 1490 (15th century). It also contains genre fiction and it is a sentimental novel. It is considered one of the greatest exponents of the chivalric novels in the Valencian language and of the Valencian Golden Age.

It begins with the narration of the adventures of Guillem de VΓ roic, who imposes the rules of chivalry on Tirant. It includes autobiographical components by the author himself, for example Tirant is trained in England, where Martorell lived in 1438 and 1439. The hero is knighted after several unique battles against kings, dukes and giants. From England he marches to France, Sicily and Rhodes, provoked by the Genoese and the Sultan of Cairo, who are defeated by the hero; then he conquers Jerusalem, Alexandria, Tripoli and Tunis. He travels to Byzantium at the request of the emperor and in Constantinople falls in love with Carmesina, the emperor's daughter. The story of this romance, with the intervention of the widow Reposada and the maid Placerdemivida, occupies a large part of the play. After having fought in Barbary, Tirante marries Carmesina and is named Caesar of the Byzantine Empire; he conquered lands from the Turkish and, ill, dies. On hearing this, Carmesina also dies. The story closes with events involving secondary characters that complete the plot of the novelistic tale. Here love is more sensual than platonic: the erotic scenes are presented with great expressiveness. And instead of the astonishing lifestyles of other knights, the author focuses on everyday details and more prosaic aspects.

In my opinion, Tirant lo Blanc is the only work that combines all genres of novels. Nowadays it has not happened the romance that was in the play, which is also very striking and shows that love is not only about relationships, but also about more than just relationships.
